About

A Totally Normal Neighborhood Bar

A ripple in the space time continuum, The Houston Blacklight is a portal to a hedonistic escape where the drinks flow, the food delights and the welcoming vibe is always right. Located in the beloved former Night Light Lounge space, the cocktail bar is a playful mashup of Atomic Era fantasy and rough-edged elegance brought to you by the same team behind Portland restaurants Gado Gado and Oma’s Hideaway.

Work with us!

Looking to join our team? We're always taking resumes from qualified professionals to work alongside us in the kitchen, dining room and at our commissary kitchen! Please fill out the form and send us your resume at info@thehoustonblacklight.com. We look forward to hearing from you!

We're here to help! If you don't find the A to your Q here, pop an email over to info@thehoustonblacklight.com

Do you allow minors?

For this celestial voyage, please be aware that our spaceship is reserved for travelers who are 21 years or older only.

Do I need a reservation?

We welcome reservations for groups of 8-15. For smaller groups, we invite you to join us on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you're dreaming of a larger gathering, please check out our Events page for more information!

Do you do to-go?

Unfortunately at this time, we do not offer food to-go.

Do you offer alcohol-free beverages?

Definitely! Our selection of zero-proof elixirs will have you sparkling like a space unicorn. Glide through our menu to discover zero proof cocktails, non-alcoholic beer, CBD soda to calm your inner dinosaur, and a constellation of soft drinks to quench your thirst.

Can I bring my own food or cake for a special occasion?

You can certainly bring a cake for a celebration! We do charge a $5 cake cutting fee per person/dinosaur/extraterrestrial being in the group. While we welcome celebratory desserts from the farthest reaches of the cosmos, we kindly request that guests not bring any other outside food.

Do you have gluten free/vegetarian/vegan options?

Absolutely! We have several items on our food menu that are gluten free, vegetarian and/or vegan, and we can accommodate most common allergies. If you have multiple and/or especially severe allergies, we do recommend reaching out at info@thehoustonblacklight.com ahead of your visit to ensure we can accommodate you.

Do you allow dogs?

On our outdoor patio, we welcome any well-mannered furry companion to bask in the glittering starlight (leashed, of course). For the well-being of all, we do not allow pets indoors. Fear not though, working service animals are like the astronauts of our cosmic crew and are welcome in any area of our stellar establishment.

Do you offer gender neutral restrooms?

You'll find single-occupancy restrooms that are as gender-neutral as a glittering nebula. Our mission is to make sure every space explorer, interstellar horse, and even the occasional time-traveling dinosaur feels at ease during their cosmic pit stops.
